Job summary

Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London is seeking a Graphic Designer to elevate our brand across digital, print, and audiovisual channels. This role reports to the Senior Brand and Content Manager and focuses on delivering high-quality visual communications that support patient and stakeholder engagement.

The position requires a strong Adobe Creative Cloud skill set, a collaborative approach, and a passion for accessible, storytelling-driven design.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable expertise across digital, print, and audiovisual design.
  • Advanced proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, and Premiere Pro.
  • Strong typography, layout, color theory, visual hierarchy, and accessibility knowledge.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of print production processes, specifications, materials, and supplier management.
  • Strong understanding of digital design best practices, including mobile-first layouts and accessible emails.
  • Experience managing projects from concept to delivery.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience managing basic budgets.

Description

Our three hospital charities fundraise so that Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust can go above and beyond for their patients.


The Graphic Designer is responsible for delivering impactful graphic design across digital, audiovisual, and print channels. This role will be instrumental in establishing, strengthening and evolving our brand presence, ensuring a consistent, engaging, and high-quality visual identity across all customer and stakeholder touchpoints.


Reporting to the Senior Brand and Content Manager, the Graphic Designer will support the management, development, and execution of the organisation's visual brand strategy. The role combines hands‑on design expertise with the ability to contribute creative ideas, delivering compelling visual communications that support business objectives and enhance brand recognition.



Key Responsibilities


Brand Development and Management


  • Support the Senior Brand and Content Manager in building, maintaining, and evolving the organisation's brand identity.

  • Apply brand guidelines consistently across all creative assets, ensuring high-quality, on‑brand communications for internal and external audiences.

  • Champion best practice in visual storytelling and brand design throughout the organisation. Contribute to the ongoing development of brand assets, templates, and design standards.



Creative Design Delivery


  • Create and deliver multi‑channel print, audiovisual and digital assets for websites, email campaigns, and paid media

  • Produce creative concepts from brief through to final delivery, ensuring work is aligned with strategic objectives.

  • Develop visual assets for video, animation, motion graphics, and multimedia content.

  • Prepares artwork and files to the required technical specifications.

  • Collaborate with content creators and marketing teams to deliver engaging audiovisual campaigns.



Stakeholder Collaboration


  • Work with teams to understand requirements and deliver effective creative solutions.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met. Creative management

  • Act as the organisation's design specialist, providing expert advice on creative approaches, design trends, and emerging technologies.

  • Identify opportunities to improve creative processes, efficiencies, and design output.



Role responsibilities are not exhaustive, and you would be reasonably expected to take on wider tasks that are commensurate with the level of your role.



Work environment

The post holder should expect to:



  • Work in a hot desk environment, at least two days of meaningful time a week in the Foundation’s office, plus time within hospital sites as required

  • Will occasionally be required to attend events in the evening and at weekends.

  • Expert knowledge of graphic design principles, including typography, layout, colour theory, visual hierarchy, and accessibility standards.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of print production processes, specifications, materials, and supplier management.

  • Strong understanding of digital design best practices, including mobile‑first layout principles, conversion‑focused landing page UI, accessible email design asset limits, and ad platform creative constraints

  • Experience managing projects from concept to delivery.

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

  • Demonstrable experience of working with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders, including people from a wide range of backgrounds.

  • Experience of managing basic budgets.
