Job description
JOB PURPOSE

This is a dynamic opportunity to make impactful design that drives engagement and amplifies human rights issues that define our future. Your work will be seen by millions across Amnesty International's social media channels—Instagram, X, Facebook, and YouTube— as well as through wider partnerships and campaigns. Working with the creative and social media teams alongside strategists, researchers, and campaign specialists, you'll deliver visually compelling content that meets the highest standards and aligns with our strategic objectives.

ABOUT YOU

You will have extensive experience in designing content for various social media platforms, using tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. Your passion and commitment to human rights is vital, to allow you to create bold, high-impact visual content that will elevate Amnesty's campaigns and communications across platforms. You will have excellent collaboration skills, allowing you to work effectively with internal teams, as well as external partners. Excellent time management skills is crucial for the success of this role, to enable you to balance multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create compelling designs in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Canva.
  • Develop and pitch design concepts, produce high-quality content for campaigning and research outputs in collaboration with copywriters when required.
  • Tailor designs for specific platforms (Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook) while maintaining brand consistency and maximising audience engagement.
  • Develop and maintain brand assets and guidelines, including pitch decks and branding toolkits.
  • Reporting to the Head of Creative and working closely with the Creative Executive you will manage and prioritise multiple design requests, helping shape briefs and meet tight deadlines.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Extensive professional graphic design experience, ideally in charity or marketing social content creation.
  • Expertise in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Significant experience designing content for social media including tailoring visual content for Instagram, YouTube, Twitter/X, and Facebook.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Clear written communication skills, with the ability to write and proof short form copy for design-led content (e.g. headlines, typographic treatments).
  • Creative and innovative mindset, with the ability to translate complex policies into engaging visual content.
