Job description

At Vertical Aerospace, we are pioneering the way for electric aviation. The VX4, our eVTOL (electric, vertical, take‑off and landing), 'zero emissions' aircraft will set a new safety standard for how we will navigate the sky. We won't realise our mission following the same legacy processes and traditions our predecessors followed, instead, we want to 'redefine' aerospace best practices. We are growing quickly from a prototype business to a scaling SME, and the next few years will be critical to our success and delivering on our ambitious goals of having the VX4 in service by 2030.

What to Expect

As a Graphic Designer, you will join Vertical Aerospace at a pivotal stage in our flight test campaign, playing a key role as we move closer to commercialisation and continue to grow our team. This is a unique opportunity to join a company at the forefront of a new era in aviation. As the first design-focused member of the marketing team, you'll play a key role in shaping how the world sees Vertical. You'll work within the Marketing & Communications team, partnering with various business critical functions to create compelling design that elevates our brand and supports our communications across all channels. There will be short lead‑time projects, and your work will help secure customers and investment opportunities. It's not a typical role, it will require flexibility, creativity, and resilience. For the right person, it's a chance to have a real impact on the future of flight.

What You’ll Do
Concept & Strategy
  • Work with Marketing, Investor Relations, Commercial, Public Affairs, and other external-facing teams to understand objectives and develop creative design concepts.
  • Contribute to creative workshops to generate ideas and visual directions.
  • Collaborate across teams to elevate marketing and brand content across digital, print, and environmental channels.
  • Translate complex engineering concepts into simple, visually engaging narratives.
Design & Delivery
  • Create, iterate, and deliver design assets across a variety of formats, including graphic, illustrative, technical, and motion.
  • Develop and maintain a broad range of presentation decks, templated marketing materials, and digital and physical campaign assets.
  • Produce investor materials and marketing decks at pace.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all visual communications, maintaining high standards of design and execution.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work with external partners, suppliers, and creative agencies as required (we work with some brilliant branding, creative, and video partners).
Qualifications & Experience
  • A strong understanding of design principles, visual storytelling, and brand systems.
  • Proven experience producing high-quality creative work across digital and print media, in a business environment.
  • Strong Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects or Premiere) proficiency, and comfortable producing high-quality Powerpoint documents.
  • Ability to interpret briefs, present ideas, and communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to go the extra mile and sometimes at short notice to execute on tasks to a high quality and against tight deadlines.
  • A proactive mindset, keen to keep abreast of trends and techniques, bringing these into your work.
  • Keen eye for detail and an understanding of visual hierarchy, composition, and typography.
  • Motion graphics, animation, or video editing is a plus.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
Benefits

Our people matter - we're not going anywhere without them. Which is why our company benefits go beyond the essentials.

  • 26 days holiday, plus bank holiday.
  • 5 extra days per year to buy (or sell).
  • 5 extra days holiday when you get married or enter a civil partnership.

  • Award-winning digital health and wellbeing service (Help@Hand).
