Job summary

MND Association seeks a Grants and Trusts Manager to secure income from charitable trusts, foundations, and grant-making bodies, driving sustainable funding partnerships and measuring impact of funded work.

You will strengthen funder relationships, develop compelling funding opportunities, and lead a high-performing Trusts Team to deliver persuasive applications. This role demands collaboration, strategic thinking, and excellent communication with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience securing and growing income from grants, trusts, and foundations within the charity sector.
• Strong track record of developing successful funding applications from concept through to award.
• Experience leading, developing and motivating a high-performing team.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
• Demonstrable success building productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external funders.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and identify funding trends.
• Experience managing budgets, resources and fundraising activity.
• Proficiency in CRM databases and fundraising systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead on identification and development of a portfolio of trusts, foundations and grant-making organisations to generate sustainable income.
• Build, maintain and grow strong funder relationships through excellent stewardship and engagement.
• Manage and support the Trusts Team to deliver high-quality, timely and persuasive funding applications.
• Identify and develop new funding opportunities in partnership with the Prospect Researcher and key stakeholders.
• Lead, motivate and develop Trust team members, creating a collaborative and supportive environment.
• Work across the Association to develop funding propositions aligned to organisational priorities.
• Ensure collaboration with fundraising colleagues to maintain funder ownership and contact strategies.
• Monitor grant requirements and deliver reports and funding conditions on time.
• Manage income and expenditure budgets, reporting on performance and progress.
• Promote accurate use of fundraising systems and donor records.
