Job summary

The Royal Society in London is seeking a Grants Administrator to manage the application, selection and awarding process for defined research funding calls. You will liaise with external researchers and administrators, providing guidance on funding schemes and grant management, and contribute to scheme development and improvements.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Senior Fellowships, this full-time role combines rigorous grant oversight with data handling, reporting and collaboration across teams

Qualifications

• Educated to degree standard or equivalent - Essential
• A good understanding of academic and/or research activities in science - Desirable
• A good understanding of procedures and best practice in research funding and/or grant making - Desirable
• Science degree - Desirable

Responsibilities

• Manage application, selection and awarding process for defined research funding calls
• Act as liaison for external researchers and administrators, advising on RS funding schemes and grant management
• Support improvement in grant-making and scheme development
• Provide accurate information and briefings on funding developments; organise meetings and prepare minutes
