Job Summary

Contract Type: Fixed Term between January until May half term.

Working Pattern: 28.5 hours per week. 8.30-12.30 x 2 days, 8.30-3.30 x 2 days, 8.30-4.30 x 1 day (allocation of days and times to be discussed with candidates).

Salary: Grade 2, Points 5 – 6. £25,583 – £25,989 – pro‑rata term time only.

We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant for a January start, to work in Year 6. The aim is to provide additional support to our Year 6 children, in their preparation for SATs.

Grangetown is a vibrant, friendly and welcoming primary school. We wish to appoint a highly motivated and hard‑working Teaching Assistant to provide support for pupils and teachers.

Though the initial contract is fixed‑term, until shortly after SATs end, there may be scope for continued employment, depending on budget and other factors.

We are seeking a candidate with appropriate experience, and the ability to support in class as well as with small groups of children.

  • Be proficient in supporting aspects of teaching and learning, under the direction of the classroom teacher.
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge, appropriate to the year group, especially in English and maths.

  • Be an effective communicator, who is willing to participate fully in the life of the school.
