Graduate Teaching Assistant – Speech and Language

Are you interested in pursuing a career in speech and language? Do you have the desire and drive to work in a school setting with children? A lovely Primary Academy in Hackney is looking to appoint a Graduate Teaching Assistant to support children across the school with speech and language needs.

The Role

In this role you will be leading 1 to 1 and group intervention sessions across the school for pupils who have identified speech and language needs. The school is looking for a graduate with an interest in speech and language, but not necessarily experience as training will be provided. You will work closely with an external speech and language therapist and the school's SENCO to prepare interventions, understand the tasks and activities that need to be carried out, assist in the assessment of children and their needs, and regularly communicate with other staff, parents and professional teams.

The role requires a graduate who can work flexibly, use initiative, and find solutions with a positive approach. It is offered on a full‑time basis until July 2026.
