Job description
Overview

Stepping into your future - ready to learn, grow, and do meaningful work that matters.

At IVC Evidensia, you’ll find a place where you can be yourself, supported by people who want to see you thrive. You’ll get hands‑on experience, build your confidence, and discover just how far your passion can take you.

Unlock Your Passions at Scarsdale Vets.

Scarsdale Vets are a group of Veterinary practices in the Midlands, with eleven small animal practices across Derby & Burton, a state‑of‑the‑art small animal hospital and dedicated teams of Farm and Equine vets serving the East Midlands region. You will be based at our Farm and Equine practice in Markeaton. We are close to M1, have good rail links and are less than 30 minutes away from East Midlands Airport.

We have a large team of experienced farm vets, with support from our excellent ATTs and TB testers. The equine nurses at the practice also support the farm team. Everyone is super friendly and work well together. We have regular socials and are a happy friendly team. Within our team we have certificate holders in Cattle Health and production and Camelid Practice, other vets are currently studying for certificates. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone wanting to get good exposure to farm practice within a supportive and friendly team.

We have a fantastic clinic with inpatient and surgical facilities. Clinic facilities are shared with the equine practice (such as x‑ray and endoscopy) as well as the usual up‑to‑date farm equipment. We have one main site where the office is based, however travel to the client’s farms is a large part of the job.

Enjoy a welcoming environment with structured support and flexibility to suit your lifestyle.

Responsibilities
  • Work 40 hours per week, including part of our on‑call and weekend roster (approximately 1 in 5 for new graduates). Initially shadowing and then taking the lead on call with rota’d support from an experienced vet.
  • Travel to client farms as a large part of the role.
  • After a weekend on call receive 1.5 days off in lieu (Monday pm and the following Friday). After a night on call get an early finish from lunchtime.
  • Support the farm and equine teams, collaborate with ATTs, TB testers and equine nurses.
