A leading educational institution in Coventry is offering a 2-year Graduate Trainee Engineer position in Battery Materials and Cells Group. The role includes hands-on training in battery manufacturing technologies and participation in various rotational projects to build critical engineering skills. Candidates should have a minimum of a 2:1 Honours Degree in a STEM discipline. Position: x4 (111066-1125) – 2‑year graduate programme at Warwick Manufacturing Group.
Launch your career at WMG, University of Warwick and work on real‑world leading international research and development projects within science, technology and engineering. Through the two year programme you will receive hands‑on training in both current industry practices and next‑generation technologies, including best practice and safety requirements for battery manufacturing. You will gain exposure to key stages of the cell value chain through rotational projects across synthesis scale‑up, electrode formulation, cell assembly, formation/aging, cycling protocols, and cell characterisation. Each rotation provides a unique experience designed to build critical skills for battery engineers. During the first year, rotations will typically last between 3 and 6 months, with opportunities to specialise in a chosen area in year two.
This specialist graduate pathway offers a diverse, high‑quality programme with opportunities to work in collaboration with industry and academic partners within a project engineering and applied research setting.
We seek a minimum of a 2:1 Honours Degree in any STEM related degree discipline. We encourage applications from candidates with a degree in Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or a related discipline.

As a Graduate Engineer you will work on a range of projects, providing you with a firm grounding in the principles of project engineering, research and project management. Each rotational project will offer a unique experience. Some projects may be lab based, others may have more of a focus on research or development. During year one of the Programme, each project duration will last between 3 and 6 months.
