Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Graduate Traffic Engineer to join our UK&I teams. You’ll work on live projects, supported by experienced engineers, gaining experience across design, modelling and delivery lifecycles.

You will receive structured training in software tools and digital engineering, with opportunities to contribute to road, cycle and pedestrian schemes while developing a broad transport planning capability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Master level engineering degrees with 2:1 or above; strong numerical/analytical skills.
  • Advantage: postgraduate degrees in Civil/General Eng or Geography/Transport planning.
  • Interest in traffic engineering and sustainable transport networks.
  • Proficiency in MS Word/Excel; good report-writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of designs and technical solutions across project stages.
  • Attend site visits, meetings and workshops; collaborate with clients and design professionals.
  • Receive training in engineering, design and traffic modelling software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, LinSig, TRANSYT, VISSIM).
  • Develop understanding of digital engineering and BIM processes.
  • progress to greater responsibility for tasks and deliverables as experience grows.
