Job summary

Coventry City Council is looking for a Graduate Town Planner to join its Planning Service, helping shape Coventry’s growth and regeneration. You will gain broad experience across Development Management, Planning Policy, Urban Design and delivery, while developing professionally toward Chartered Town Planner status.

You will work with experienced planners, develop technical knowledge and be supported to pursue further training, including a Master’s degree in Planning and professional

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in Town Planning and development of places and communities.
• Good written, verbal and face-to-face communication skills.
• Ability to interpret plans, maps and drawings and attention to detail.
• Ability to organise workload and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable using IT and digital systems.

Responsibilities

• Support processing planning applications, certificates and pre-application enquiries.
• Support research for Local Plan and planning policy documents.
• Gain experience in urban design, heritage and the planning environment.
• Contribute to planning monitoring and delivery activities.
