Graduate Town Planner | Location: Manchester

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a highly respected and forward thinking planning consultancy in their search for a Graduate Town Planner to join their dynamic team in Manchester.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious graduate with a passion for planning and development to kickstart their career within a consultancy that prides itself on delivering creative, practical, and sustainable planning solutions. You\'ll work on a diverse range of projects across the residential, commercial, and mixed use sectors, gaining valuable experience and professional development support.

The Role
  • As a Graduate Town Planner, you\'ll assist senior members of the team in delivering high quality planning advice and managing projects from inception through to determination.
  • Conducting planning research and preparing site appraisals.
  • Supporting the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals.
  • Drafting planning statements, design and access statements, and supporting documents.
  • Engaging with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders.
  • Monitoring local planning policies and contributing to policy consultations.
  • Providing general support to the wider planning team on active projects.
About You
  • A relevant degree or master\'s qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline (RTPI accredited preferred).
  • A genuine enthusiasm for planning and a desire to work towards MRTPI chartership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and organisational abilities.
  • A proactive and positive approach to learning and problem solving.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a close knit team.
