Are you a recent Town Planning graduate looking to kick-start your career with a supportive, reputable consultancy? I'm working exclusively with a well-established independent property and planning practice based in Chelmsford, now seeking a motivated Graduate Town Planner to join their growing team.

The Role

You’ll be joining a friendly, multi-disciplinary environment where you’ll work closely with experienced planners on a wide range of residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects. This is an ideal role for someone who wants hands‑on exposure to all stages of the planning process, including:

  • Preparing planning applications and supporting documents
  • Conducting research and site appraisals
  • Drafting planning statements and reports
  • Engaging with local authorities, clients, and stakeholders
  • Supporting senior colleagues on strategy, appeals, and project management

The team places a strong emphasis on learning and development, offering structured support toward your RTPI APC.

About You

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • A degree (or master's) in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related RTPI-accredited subject
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A genuine interest in development, the built environment, and shaping places
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to learn
  • Ideally, internship, placement, or consultancy experience – but this isn’t essential
