Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Graduate Technical Buyer (Machined Parts) for a Warrington-based role. The position involves reading drawings to understand manufacturing requirements, estimating component costs, obtaining quotes, and negotiating prices with CNC and machine shop clients.

The role includes travel to client sites a couple of times per month and a 40-hour week from 8:30 to 5:00, Monday to Friday.

Are you an Engineering Graduate looking for a client-facing position where you will be trained to become an expert Technical Buyer, as you kickstart you career within an industry-leading company specialising in the Nuclear and Oil & Gas sectors?

Would you like a role offering a wide scope of progression, including up to Purchasing Manager, alongside tailored in-house training in the form of mentoring, internal courses, and learning on the job?

In this role will be visiting client machine shops as you drive down material costs, identify supply chain gaps, and negotiate procurement prices with CNC and machine shop clients. You will be responsible for cost optimisation, ensuring parts are acquired at low price, whilst maintaining high quality. There is ample travel as you visit clients a couple times a month.

This company has been established for nearly 50 years and has developed themselves as one of the world leading specialists within the valves sector and oversee all elements of Subsea and Pipeline projects from order to assembly. They have recently secured approval for their technologies to be used in the pioneering Rolls Royce SMR project, positioning themselves at the forefront of the UK’s nuclear energy sector, whilst diversifying into international markets.

This role would suit an Engineering Graduate looking to progress into a technical sales position as part of a company offering the opportunity to expand their knowledge and career, with a wide range of training, in a interesting and technically complex position.
