Job description

We have a variety of join dates available for this role, and can offer both ASAP start dates and start dates up February 2027 - but are not currently recruiting those graduating in 2027

At Acturis, innovation isn’t just part of our culture - it’s in our DNA.

Our story began in 2000 in the garage of our co‑founder, Theo Duchen, who, alongside fellow former McKinsey partner David McDonald, set out to reinvent insurance technology. What started as a bold start‑up idea has grown into a global SaaS leader trusted by the industry.

Today, over 100,000 users across 40+ countries rely on the Acturis platform. By working closely with brokers, insurers, and MGAs, we continue to shape the market and drive new standards across both personal and commercial lines.

Acturis is proud to be recognised as a Great Place to Work® 2026 and to maintain a collaborative, innovative, start‑up‑style culture, even as we scale globally. With over 90% of our hires coming from graduate backgrounds, this is a place built for early‑career talent to thrive. And as an EcoVadis Committed‑rated organisation, we focus on creating long‑term value by operating in a sustainable and responsible way.

About the Application Development team

The Application Development team is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the core Acturis platform. Working across APIs, databases, user interfaces and quality assurance, the team delivers the functionality that powers the software used by brokers and insurers every day. From defining requirements and investigating issues to testing new features and supporting platform improvements, the team plays a central role in the ongoing evolution of the Acturis platform.

Day to day you will:

  • Analysing business and technical requirements, producing detailed specifications for new functionality and enhancements to the Acturis platform.
  • Investigating platform behaviour, system issues and data flows to identify root causes, recommend solutions and support the delivery of fixes.
  • Designing and executing test scenarios for new functionality, validating system changes and ensuring releases meet business and technical requirements.

We offer mentorship from day one, a clear progression path, and real responsibility early on, because we’ve built an environment where graduates grow fast and make meaningful impact.

You can expect:

  • A transparent career structure, regular feedback, and 3 formal performance reviews annually
  • Opportunities to lead projects, manage resources, and mentor junior team members.
  • Intensive onboarding, industry-recognised training, and funded specialist courses as you progress.

You'll thrive here if you:

  • Have a 2:1+ in a STEM degree and strong A‑levels (AAB minimum, including an A in Maths).
  • Are logical, analytical, organised, and quick to learn new concepts.
  • Communicate confidently and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment.
