Role: Graduate Teaching Assistant

Location: Greenwich (near Deptford Station)

Start Date: January

Contract: Full-time, long-term

Pay: £85-£105 per day

About the Role

A warm and well-organised Greenwich primary school is seeking a committed Graduate Teaching Assistant to support their KS1 team from January. This role is ideal for a graduate who is passionate about working with young learners and is considering a future in teaching or educational psychology.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils' early literacy and numeracy skills, help deliver small-group phonics and reading interventions, and work with the class teacher to maintain a positive, engaging learning environment. You'll also help pupils develop social confidence, independence, and strong learning routines.

The Ideal Candidate

The school hopes to recruit a Graduate Teaching Assistant who holds a degree in a relevant subject such as:

  • English, Linguistics or Creative Writing (ideal for supporting reading and writing)
  • Maths or Economics (helpful for early numeracy interventions)
  • Psychology, Sociology or Education Studies (beneficial for understanding child development)
  • Drama or Performing Arts (excellent for communication and confidence-building)

They are also seeking someone who:

  • Has experience tutoring or supporting young children (desirable)
