The Opportunity

Are you a recent graduate ready to get stuck into a meaningful career in education, psychology, therapy, or childcare? Milk Education is working with an outstanding ASD-specialist primary school in Hillingdon, and they're looking for Graduate SEN Teaching Assistants who bring patience, empathy, and energy.

You’ll start on a day‑to‑day, term‑time basis, with real progression opportunities into long‑term or permanent roles. No fluff—this is proper, hands‑on experience that actually counts.

The Role

This role is perfect if you’re aiming for a future in teaching, psychology, mental health, speech & language therapy, occupational therapy, or education.

You’ll support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, follow structured learning approaches, and use visual communication strategies daily. It’s challenging, rewarding, and never boring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils with ASD across EYFS and Primary
  • Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions
  • Using visual supports including:
    • Visual timetables
    • Now/Next boards
    • Social stories
    • Task breakdowns
  • Supporting communication using PECS, Makaton, and visual systems
  • Assisting with sensory regulation, including movement breaks and sensory tools
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing and personal care where required
  • Promoting positive behaviour and smooth transitions
  • Working closely with teachers to adapt resources
  • Maintaining calm, low‑arousal learning environments
  • Following safeguarding procedures at all times
