Job summary

Forvis Mazars in the UK is seeking a Graduate Tax Trainee to learn how tax connects to financial performance, regulation and business decisions. You’ll study towards a fully funded professional qualification while handling real client work from day one.

You’ll join our Tax Dispute Resolution team to help clients resolve HMRC issues, gain hands‑on experience across taxes, and build your technical expertise with funded ATT/CTA study and structured training.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English Language at Grade 4/C (or equivalent).
• 112 UCAS tariff points from top three A Levels, BTECs, Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers, or other recognised Level 3 qualifications.
• Achieved or predicted a 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Help clients respond to HMRC enquiries and investigations by gathering information, reviewing evidence, and supporting case strategies.
• Research complex tax issues and turning technical legislation into clear, practical advice for clients.
• Draft client communications including letters, reports, and responses to HMRC.
• Support real tax dispute cases across areas such as Income Tax, Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE, and National Insurance.
• Attend client meetings and calls to understand challenges, build relationships, and see how advice is delivered in practice.
• Work with specialists across Tax, Audit, and Advisory to solve problems and deliver the best outcomes for clients.
• Build professional qualifications and technical expertise while applying what you learn to real client situations from day one.
