Job summary

Five Education is seeking graduates to join our Teaching Assistant team in Plymouth, supporting SEND students in mainstream and special schools. You will work across class and small groups to aid learning, development and wellbeing.

We provide funded Level 2 TA training and ongoing mentoring, with flexible full- or part-time contracts and a focus on building transferable skills for education, psychology, social care and beyond. DBS and safeguarding processes apply.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate with passion for working with children and young people.
• Willing to learn and receive specialist training, including SEND-focused courses.
• Experience in youth work, care, tutoring, or support roles welcome.

Responsibilities

• Support students in class with learning, social development and emotional wellbeing.
• Work one-to-one or in small groups with needs such as Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or SEMH.
• Assist with classroom activities and behaviour management.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.

Contract: Full-time or part-time, flexible supply work

Start Date: September 2025

Pay: £90–£100 per day (inclusive of holiday pay)

Pay

Five Education operates a PAYE payroll – the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin charges or employer’s NI. Please note, pay rate is illustrative and includes holiday pay.

Vetting

Five Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Applicants will undergo checks including reference and TRA checks. If you do not have a non-voluntary enhanced DBS on the update service, a new DBS will need to be processed for £62.70, refunded after 20 days of work and once registered to the update service.
