Arup is seeking a Graduate Sustainability Consultant to join our Climate and Sustainability team in the UK. You will work on data analysis, sustainability assessments, and client deliverables across infrastructure and urban development projects.

Ideal applicants hold an undergraduate or Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, with a strong interest in climate and sustainability, and familiarity with Excel, Power BI, and AI.

Qualifications

• An undergraduate or bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as Climate & Sustainability Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Geography or Sustainability.
• Engineering graduates with a sustainability-focused postgraduate qualification are welcome.
• Desirable technical skills: use of Excel, Power BI and AI.

Responsibilities

• Data analysis of organisation/project sustainability and greenhouse gas emission performance.
• Assisting with gap analysis/assessment of sustainability performance.
• Preparing client deliverables such as sustainability strategies, climate risk assessments, and carbon assessments aligned to frameworks (e.g., BREEAM Infrastructure, TCFD, TNFD).
• Planning and managing smaller scale projects including budget review and monitoring.
• Assisting with bids and tenders.

The Opportunity

Our Climate and Sustainability team is based in the North including Scotland, Northern Ireland and the north of England. We offer a range of services covering sustainable development and climate change. We work on major national infrastructure projects (transport, water and energy sectors) and urban development projects. Our clients include private developers, public sector authorities and 3rd sector organisations. We work in a multi-disciplinary environment alongside other environmental, planning, engineering and urban design specialists. Joining this team you'll likely work on a range of projects in different sectors including transport, water and energy. Clients will include private developers, public sector authorities and other organisations. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team alongside other environmental, planning, engineering and urban design specialists, and will work closely with technical disciplines (both internal and external to Arup) to deliver high-quality climate and sustainability consultancy services.

• Data analysis of organisation/project sustainability and greenhouse gas emission performance;
• Assisting with gap analysis/assessment of organisation/projects’ sustainability performance;
• Supporting the preparation of client deliverables in areas such as sustainability strategies, climate risk assessments, carbon assessments (aligned to frameworks such as BREEAM Infrastructure, TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures), TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures) and production of Environmental Impact Assessment of climate topicsand Social Value strategies.
• Supporting in the planning and management of smaller scale projects including reviewing and monitoring budgets;
• Assisting with preparation of bids and tenders.

For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

An undergraduate or bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, such as Climate & Sustainability Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Geography or Sustainability.
