A leading legal services firm in Greater London is offering a comprehensive Apprenticeship Programme that combines on-the-job training with academic study at the University of Law. Apprentices will rotate through key areas including Banking, Finance, and Litigation while working closely with experienced lawyers and a dedicated support team. This role provides a pathway to qualification as a solicitor and encourages involvement in diversity initiatives and social activities. Ideal for candidates with a passion for law and a proactive approach to learning.
Our apprenticeship programme combines on‑the‑job training with guided, independent study delivered by the University of Law (ULaw). It will guide you through the new pathway to qualification as a solicitor by completion of the Solicitors Qualifying Exams (SQE1 and SQE2). You will have access to a skills coach at ULaw who will support you throughout the programme. Four days a week will be spent working in our office in the City of London and the fifth day will be allocated to study.
During your apprenticeship you will spend your time rotating through each of these four different areas of the firm. In the Know‑how seat you will assist with legal research, proof‑reading, preparing first drafts of client briefings, circulating information to fee‑earners and preparing case summaries. In the banking, finance & investment, pensions litigation and general pensions seats you will assist with a range of legal tasks including legal research, drafting, proof‑reading documents, creation and maintenance of transaction bibles, producing bundles, assisting with projects and billing administration.
Upon joining Sackers, you will be assigned a junior lawyer as your buddy who will support you in the onboarding process, provide insight into the day‑to‑day activities of Sackers and help you to settle in. Our dedicated apprentice supervisor will have regular check‑ins with you to discuss your workload and ensure that it is giving you the necessary development to meet the SRA skills requirements. In addition, throughout your apprenticeship you will have interim and end‑of‑seat reviews for each of your seats.
Outside of the “day job” there are opportunities to get involved in the firm’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (E&DI) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, as well as activities organised by our social committee “Joy Comm”. We welcome (and encourage!) involvement from staff across the firm on these initiatives.
