Job summary

WHD in Maidenhead is seeking a graduate software engineer for a hybrid role (3 days onsite, 2 days remote). You will develop and maintain software across the full stack using C#/.NET, SQL Server, and React/TypeScript.

You will learn coding, testing and database standards with support from senior engineers, write automated tests, and participate in Agile ceremonies while collaborating with product owners and QA teams to ensure high-quality releases.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or up to 2 years' experience.
• Strong foundations in OOP, data structures and algorithms, plus design patterns.
• Familiarity with C#/ .NET, React, TypeScript, JavaScript or SQL.
• Exposure to relational databases, web development, Git, Visual Studio or Azure DevOps/Jira is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software for products across the full stack (C#/NET, SQL Server, React/TypeScript).
• Learn and apply coding, testing and database standards with guidance from senior engineers.
• Use AI coding assistants and review outputs before commit.
• Write and maintain automated tests (unit, database and end-to-end).
• Investigate, debug and resolve defects in development and production.
• Collaborate with Product Owner to understand requirements and estimate work.
• Work with QA Engineers on test plans and release stabilisation.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and code reviews.
• Communicate progress clearly and seek help when blocked.
