Job summary

Calnex Solutions in Linlithgow is seeking a Graduate Software Engineer/Developer to join a multi-discipline development team. You will work on real product feature development, mentored by experienced engineers, and contribute to the design and implementation of software across the stack.

The role offers a hybrid working model with two days in the office (Tuesday and Thursday) and a mix of home working where possible, enabling work-life balance and exposure to a broad range of product areas.

Qualifications

• Educated to Degree level in Computer Science or an equivalent subject.
• Grasp of OO design techniques.
• Application software development using some of: C#/.NET, C++, Python.
• Experience of web development using any of Javascript, Angular, CSS, React and HTML would be beneficial.
• Ability to work closely with others in a multi-discipline team.
• Ability to respond to tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Developing and delivering quality software to timescales based on an outline of the implementation.
• Contributing to the architectural development and evolution of the software to keep it flexible and maintainable as market requirements evolve.
• Support quality-oriented activities necessary to deliver a product that will delight our customers.
• Learn the domain and hence appreciate the real-life use cases of the product features.

The Calnex team are currently working in a hybrid model at their manager’s discretion. This flexibility is dependent on job role and supports a positive work/life balance and the needs of the business. This role requires a minimum of 2 working days in the office (Tuesday and Thursday), with the other three days at home when possible. This may vary depending on what’s required to fulfil the requirements of the role.
