Job summary

Avanti Recruitment Limited is seeking an enthusiastic early-career software engineer for a London-based fintech team. You will contribute to building production software from day one, collaborate with engineers, and engage with the commercial team and customers.

Applicants should hold a CS/Software Engineering degree and demonstrate strong fundamentals, a genuine interest in software engineering, and the ability to explain technical decisions.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/Software Engineering or related field
• Strong programming fundamentals
• Experience with a language such as C#, Java, Python, JavaScript or TypeScript
• Evidence of university, personal, internship, or placement projects
• Genuine interest in software engineering beyond coursework
• Ability to explain technical decisions and the reasoning behind them
• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take ownership
• Ability to read code, solve problems, challenge assumptions, and critically assess solutions proposed by modern tools
• Experience with C#/.NET, React, Azure, SQL, or similar technologies would be useful, but not essential
