Job summary

Galliford Try is offering a Graduate Site Engineer role in London (Thames/M25 area) as part of its two-year development programme. The role focuses on setting out and engineering control on live sites, with a structured pathway to professional qualifications.

Starting salary £31,250, with a package including car benefit, holidays, private medical insurance and broader benefits. Immediate start in September 2027 is possible with travel to projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering (or similar) before September 2027.
  • Full UK driving licence or currently learning, by Sep 6 2027.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK without restriction.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in setting out and engineering control on site.
  • Support site engineers and operatives with information.
  • Complete diary sheets and provide photographic evidence as required.
  • Assist in material reconciliations.
  • Ensure surveying equipment is calibrated.
  • Carry out as-built surveys on completed works and drawings.
  • Support in producing 2D & 3D site sketches.
  • Maintain quality records per Inspection & Test Plans.

What will you be doing?

As a Graduate Site Engineer you will report to an Engineer/Senior Engineer and assist the Site Engineers in providing setting out/engineering control on site.

You will:

  • Participate in creating a knowingly safe working environment.
  • Assist in site engineering control and setting out activities and provide information to operatives and subcontractors.
  • Complete diary sheets along with any photographic evidence as required.
  • Assist in material reconciliations.
  • Ensure all surveying equipment is calibrated.
  • Assist in carrying out as-built surveys on complete works and drawings.
  • Support in producing 2D & 3D site sketches.
  • Assist in maintaining quality records, ensuring all works undertaken in accordance with Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) and maintaining the as-built records.

This role is available for a September 2027 start, with the possibility of an earlier start date to suit yourself and the business.

As part of the graduate programme you will be expected to work in and around the location advertised, with the possibility for expanding travel to other projects and locations in the future. This may include staying away from home.

What are we looking for?

We invite applications from graduates who are passionate about the industry and have achieved, or are on track to achieve a Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering(or similar) prior to September 2027.

A full UK driving licence (or currently learning, you will be expected to have obtained a Full UK Driving Licence by 6th September 2027) and the eligibility to live and work in the UK without restriction is essential for this role.
