Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking a Graduate Sales Estimator in the United Kingdom. The role blends engineering knowledge with customer-facing responsibilities to build a long-term career in technical sales.

Graduate Sales Estimator

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 + Excellent Benefits

Are you a recent engineering graduate or someone with a technical background looking to kick-start a career in sales?

We're looking for an ambitious, motivated and commercially minded individual to join a growing sales team as a Sales Estimator. This is an excellent opportunity to combine your engineering knowledge with customer-facing responsibilities, developing valuable commercial skills within a specialist engineering environment.

You'll receive full training and support from experienced sales and engineering professionals, making this the ideal role for someone who wants to build a long-term career in technical sales.

What You'll Be Doing

• Reviewing customer enquiries and understanding requirements.
• Preparing quotations, estimates and proposals.
• Following up quotations via phone and email to convert opportunities into orders.
• Building strong relationships with new and existing customers.
• Supporting customers with product selection and technical queries.
• Identifying new business opportunities through regular customer engagement.
• Maintaining accurate records and managing enquiry pipelines.
• Processing customer orders and associated documentation.
• Working closely with engineering, purchasing and operations teams.
• Supporting exhibitions, customer visits and wider sales activities.

What We're Looking For

• Degree qualified in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent engineering knowledge.
• Enthusiastic, ambitious and eager to develop a successful career in sales.
• Strong communication skills and confidence speaking with customers.
• Commercially aware with an interest in understanding customer needs.
• Organised and capable of managing multiple priorities.
• Numerate with excellent attention to detail.
• Comfortable learning technical products and applications.
• Team player with a positive, proactive attitude.
• Good Microsoft Office skills.
• Progression opportunities to move in to Key account manager roles. Previous sales experience is not required. Full training will be provided, so we're particularly interested in candidates with the right attitude, drive and willingness to learn.

What's on Offer?

• £28,000 - £32,000 salary (depending on experience).
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
• 36.5-hour working week.
• Monday to Thursday: 8:30am - 5:00pm.
• Friday finish at 1:30pm.
