The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a PostGraduate Sales Engineer to join a growing commercial team within a technically driven organisation. The role is ideal for someone with a technical or engineering degree who has gained 1–2 years of industry experience and is now looking to transition into a customer‑facing, consultative sales role.

You’ll work closely with a highly experienced Sales Manager known for outstanding training, mentoring and career progression, making this role particularly well suited to ambitious early‑career professionals.

The position offers a balanced mix of technical engagement, commercial exposure and relationship building, with clear development opportunities into senior sales or commercial roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the development and management of customer relationships across key markets
  • Assisting with lead generation and new business opportunities
  • Delivering consultative, value‑based technical sales support
  • Preparing quotations, proposals and technical documentation
  • Attending client meetings, trade shows and industry events
  • Collaborating closely with engineering and technical teams to scope solutions
  • Maintaining CRM data and managing a healthy sales pipeline
  • Supporting commercial activities across a wider group portfolio as required
About You

Essential:

  • Degree in Engineering, Physics or a related technical discipline
  • 1–2 years’ experience in industry (engineering, technical, applications or customer‑facing roles)
  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Self‑motivated, organised and eager to learn
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
  • Fluent in English

Desirable:

  • Exposure to aerospace, defence, photonics or measurement technologies
  • Any prior sales, commercial or customer‑facing experience
  • Additional languages (French or German advantageous)
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
