Job summary

Focus Resourcing is sourcing a Graduate Research & Technology Engineer for a Bridgend-based engineering company that designs and manufactures high-tech equipment for global customers.

The role suits a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in researching and developing projects, working with advanced lab equipment, testing new technologies and analysing data alongside engineering, sales and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• A degree in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or a related scientific or engineering discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Good IT skills and keen attention to detail.
• A genuine interest in research, technology and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Support research and development activities across a range of engineering projects.
• Process customer samples, produce technical reports and maintain engineering databases.
• Assist in the operation and continual improvement of the Applications Facility.
• Support the Job Shop service, including equipment set-up, operation and routine maintenance.
• Work closely with Engineering, Sales and Marketing teams to support demonstrations, applications testing and technical assessments.
• Maintain inventory of specialist stock used for research and engineering projects.
• Test and evaluate both internally developed and third-party equipment.
• Collect, interpret and analyse technical data, presenting findings in clear and concise reports.

What's on offer:

• Salary of 29,000 - 34,000 depending on experience.
• Working hours will be Monday to Thursday, 8:30am - 5:00pm; Friday 8:30am - 1:30pm.
