Job summary

University of Exeter in Exeter, England offers a full-time, on-site Graduate Research Assistant role. Fixed-term to 31 January 2029, with starting salary from £33,951 on Grade E. Three posts available from 1 February 2027.

You will perform laboratory procedures for high-throughput DNA methylation profiling and prepare samples for array analysis. You will contribute to workflow development, maintain rigorous sample tracking, and collaborate with leaders in genomics and bioinformatics.

Qualifications

• We are seeking graduates with a strong interest in molecular biology, genomics or biomedical research.
• Ability to present information on research progress and outcomes, orally, in writing and electronically.
• Educated to first degree level or equivalent qualification/ experience in a related field and demonstrate knowledge of research methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory procedures supporting high-throughput DNA methylation profiling.
• Prepare and quality-control samples for DNA methylation array analysis.
• Contribute to laboratory workflow development and optimisation.
• Maintain rigorous sample tracking and laboratory records.
• Work alongside researchers in epigenomics, genomics and bioinformatics.
• Help generate data for researchers worldwide.
