Job summary

Elvet Recruitment have appointed a regional high-end housing developer in the North East seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to start a commercial career under an experienced Senior QS. The role offers hands-on exposure across budgets, valuations and procurement in bespoke residential projects.

You will assist with cost control, take-offs and reporting, while developing strong numerical, analytical and communication skills in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical and analytical skills are essential.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and general commercial processes is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing budgets and cost plans for new developments.
• Support the production of valuations and cost to complete exercises.
• Help manage subcontractor payments, variations and final accounts.
• Contribute to issuing subcontract orders and maintaining documentation.
• Carry out site measures and support assessment of contractor payments.
• Attend internal and external meetings with the Senior QS.
• Maintain trade specifications and assist with monitoring subcontractor performance.
• Support pricing of customer extras and liaise with the sales team.
• Assist with professional fees management and material buying.
• Provide take offs and cost input for land appraisals.

Elvet Recruitment have been appointed to recruit a Graduate Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a regional high end housing developer in the North East. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious graduate to begin their commercial career within a supportive team, working directly under an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor.

About the role

As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will assist with the commercial management of bespoke residential developments across the region. You will support the Senior QS with cost control, procurement, valuations and reporting, gaining hands on experience across the full project lifecycle.
