Job description

While design is a key part of the job, it's only around 25% of what you'll be doing. The business is a well-established manufacturer, designing and producing a range of items that are key in providing safety, security and convenience in homes, workplaces, hospitals, schools, offices, airports and shops. So you'll also get a sense of pride for your part in helping with this. When a customer orders an item to be built, you'll play a key part in the delivery of the project: from speaking with sales to find out what the customer needs; to liaising with procurement to let them know the components that are needed, and when they will arrive; to letting the production team know what they need to do and when. And you'll be sketching and designing the plans that the production team will need to put it all together. You'll also be involved with developing new products, and helping to solve problems that come up, for example design related manufacturing issues.

What you'll get

A salary of between £(phone number removed) depending on experience.

What you'll need

You’ll need an engineering degree, ideally something Mechanical or Manufacturing / Production related. And good CAD design skills. Solidworks ideally, but if you've used another version then that is ok as you'll be able to pick it up. You’ll need good organisational skills, and the drive to get things done. Including chasing people up for bits of information.
