Job summary

S&W in Newcastle is launching a Graduate Programme in Private Client Tax for September 2027. You will join the Private Client Tax team, supporting clients from day one and progressing through ATT/CTA while gaining exposure to a wide range of private client work.

No previous experience is required; a strong academic record and motivation to learn are essential as you develop technical and advisory skills in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:2 degree
• A Level: 112 UCAS points (or equivalent)
• GCSE: English and Maths at Grade 5 or higher
• Commitment to Level 7 ATT/CTA Tax Pathway as part of the programme

Responsibilities

• Liaise with clients and third parties to gather information and understand objectives.
• Prepare tax returns and repayment claims, ensuring timely compliance.
• Explain upcoming tax liabilities and related tax matters to clients.
• Assist with client advice, including technical research, planning and drafting reports.
• Correspond with clients, HMRC and others by phone, email and letter to deliver high‑quality service.
