Senior plc's Innovation Centre in the United Kingdom is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to drive advanced simulations and test activities across propulsion, energy and aerospace-related projects. You will use Ansys, CAD, and scripting to support design decisions, maintain test rigs, and contribute to high-performance, safe engineering solutions for global OEM collaborations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
• Desirable FEA knowledge.
• Good knowledge of fluid mechanics and CFD is advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Simulate mechanical behavior with Ansys (static, modal, transient).
• Operate and maintain test rigs.
• Develop Ansys macros to support engineering work.
• Generate CAD/Ansys models for simulation.
• Interpret experimental data to aid prediction.
• Lead test setup, especially multi-axis testing.
• Write reports with conclusions from simulations and tests.
• Support design decisions using simulation results.
