Job summary

At Atlassian Williams F1 Team, a performance optimiser/graduate engineer will study and develop performance opportunities for current and future cars. You will run simulations, support simulator/rig testing, and build insights from the team's tools and data platforms to drive performance improvements.

Based at the Grove campus in Oxfordshire, you join a two-year graduate programme with cross‑team exposure, live projects, and leadership speaker series designed to fast‑track your skills in

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree (2:1) required.
  • Experience in coding (MATLAB/Python) and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Motorsport experience through internships or personal projects desirable.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake simulation studies for current and future cars and race support.
  • Support simulator and rig testing.
  • Develop the team's software tools to deliver performance insights and metrics.
  • Gain experience across vehicle dynamics, data analysis and testing in a high‑pressure environment.

Job description

The PerformanceOptimisationdepartmentforms the backboneofperformance development direction, relentlessly focused on turning potential into championship results. Performance Optimisationteams extractevery ounce of speed and efficiency from both car and driver, spanning the full development cycle from car concept performance studies, through to optimisingride and handlingcar performanceon a race weekend. Leveraging innovative tools and data platforms, the team continuously refines performance and pushes boundaries.

In this position you be part of the Performance Optimisation team studying and developing performance opportunities for current and future cars. The work spans the full cycle, from car concept studies through to optimising car performance. You will run simulation studies and support relevantsimulator/rig testing, by using/developing the team's tools and data platforms to build performance insights.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • A relevant engineering degree (at least 2:1)
  • Experienced incoding (e.g.MATLAB/Python)and Microsoft Office 365
  • Motorsport experience through internships or personal projects is highly desirable
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • The ability to work under pressure in a collaborative environment
