A prestigious healthcare organization in Leeds is seeking a Graduate Orthotist to join their team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality Orthotic care while specializing in various areas. The new hire will build their patient caseload with support from a designated mentor and must possess assessment skills, knowledge of materials, and the ability to interact positively with patients. TheRole:
To provide high quality Orthoticcare, developing a wide range of knowledge and experience. This role will allowyou the opportunity to specialise in specific areas of Orthotics as yourexperience grows.
You will gradually build up your patient caseload, increasingit with time and experience, continually being supported by the rest of theteam whilst also having a designated mentor as part of our Preceptorshipprogram, until you carry a full clinic covering all areas of orthotics.
An in-depth knowledge of pathologies commonly seen inOrthotic clinics, their presentation and long-term prognosis.
Have logical and thorough assessment skills to build astructured and detailed picture of the patient.
The ability to positively interact with patients, useassessment and examination skills to recognise underlying pathologies and riskfactors to understand their orthotic needs.
Use the knowledge gained in assessment and diagnosis toprescribe an orthosis that best meets the functional needs and wishes of thepatient and form a treatment plan.
The ability to take accurate measurements, outlines and castsof the patient to allow easy and accurate manufacture for all types oforthoses.
An understanding of the different aspects and processesinvolved in the manufacture of different orthoses.
Have a knowledge of materials used within Orthotics, theiruses, variations and the manufacturing processes involved in their use.
The ability to fit and supply a range of commonly prescribedorthoses

To accurately complete all orders including productspecification and product codes
Have basic technical skills in the adaptation of variousOrthoses in the clinical environment to improve the fit and function of theorthosis.
Ensure that your technical knowledge is kept up to date bymaintaining current awareness of the latest techniques and componentry, and byworking together with the technicians to ensure a full understanding of themanufacturing and repair processes.
Be aware of the Companys Quality system and ensure that allpaperwork and job sheets are filled out correctly, legibly and promptly.
To abide by the Companys health and safety policy whileworking in the workshop, stores and plaster room ensuring your own safety andthat of your colleagues.
