The Rural team at Bidwells manages, consults and offers strategic advice on over a million acres of farmland and estates across the country, working with some of the UK's top-performing rural businesses and landowners.

Working as part of a collaborative and highly experienced team, the Graduate or newly qualified surveyor will take on responsibility for existing clients (initially under guidance) while also contributing to business development activities, gaining exposure to a wide variety of projects across the rural sector.

Whether you are just starting your surveying career or have recently achieved your degree, we are keen to hear from talented individuals ready to make their mark.

What you’ll be doing
  • Assisting with valuations, diversification and renewable energy projects, grant sourcing, business plans, compulsory purchase/utility schemes, landlord and tenant matters, farm/equestrian agency and rural investment/development work.
  • Supporting day‑to‑day estate and farm management, including preparing tenancy agreements, handling routine estate issues, carrying out inspections and analysing/process data.
  • Contributing to property management activities such as tenant onboarding and supervision, rent reviews, schedules of condition, contractor quotations and maintenance oversight.
  • Preparing maps, drawings and technical documentation as required.
  • Providing support to senior surveyors, following instructions carefully and maintaining accurate records.
Client Database & Reporting
  • Updating internal client records, creating and amending reports, inputting agreements, conducting rent reviews, managing rental payments and resolving arrears promptly.
Claims Management
  • Preparing and submitting SFP, ELS and other grant or subsidy claims, including SSSI management plans and HLS schemes.
Business Generation
  • Supporting existing client relationships and developing skills to contribute to business development activities.
APC Progression
  • Reporting regularly to the APC Counsellor, highlighting any gaps in experience, competencies or time allocation needed to progress toward qualification.
About You
  • A Cognate RICS accredited degree, 2:1 or above.
  • A‑Levels and GCSEs (including English and Maths) at grade C/5 or above (or equivalent).
  • It would be beneficial to have demonstrable work experience within the property sector.
  • A solid understanding of land and property in relation to APC competencies.
  • Strong IT capability, including confident use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and online research tools.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including clear report writing, professional business English and high attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and build relationships at all levels.
  • A full UK driving licence.
