Graduate Mechanical Engineer – 2026 Development Programme – East Anglia

Over two years, you’ll gain hands‑on experience, structured learning, and the support of mentors who care about your growth. You’ll develop the technical and interpersonal skills to help you succeed and make a lasting impact.

This role sits within our Infrastructure operating unit, supporting the design, delivery, and maintenance of critical assets in the water industry with Anglian Water across East Anglia.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist in the mechanical design of pumping stations, treatment works, and pipeline systems
  • Support project delivery teams on site and in the office
  • Collaborate with civil, electrical, and process engineers
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and drawings
  • Engage with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure engineering excellence
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance across all activities

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Final‑year student or recent graduate in Mechanical Engineering (BEng or MEng)
  • A strong interest in sustainable engineering and the water sector
  • Strong interest in innovation, sustainability, and positive societal impact, demonstrated through collaborative teamwork and proactive problem‑solving
  • Enthusiastic learner dedicated to personal and professional development
  • This role requires visits to sites across the UK, particularly in East Anglia. As such, we would expect you to have a driving licence or work towards obtaining one within your first year of working with us
