My client is a specialist manufacturer. They are looking to take on a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Oldham on a permanent basis.

The Junior Mechanical Engineer will ideally have the following attributes :

• Degree / HND / HNC qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Experience or knowledge of pumps accessories and rotating equipment
• Technical knowledge with the ability to read engineering drawings
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials sheet metal plastics injection moulding machining assembly etc
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software- ideally SolidWorks Autodesk Inventor AutoCAD etc.
• Knowledge of tender process would be beneficial
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Excellent customer-service skills
• Confident and driven for career progression

The Junior Mechanical Engineer role will involve :

• Excellent opportunities for training and development with room to progress within the company
• Using 3D CAD (SolidWorks)
• completing design requirments for Rotating equipment and pumps
• Producing technical drawings
• Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
• Dealing with customers on a technical level
• Investigating new product lines and areas within which the company can expand

• Working on continuous improvement projects
