Job summary

Arup in Leeds is seeking a Graduate Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer to join our design and consultancy teams delivering essential infrastructure across water, energy, nuclear and manufacturing sectors. You will design mechanical pipework and equipment, perform calculations, create modelling and layouts, and collaborate with other disciplines to develop practical, safe solutions.

The Opportunity

Infrastructure Mechanical Engineers deliver design and consulting services for the vital infrastructure that makes modern life possible.

Our work is very varied and crosses industry sectors. In the water sector, we deliver potable and wastewater treatment, pumping stations, reservoirs and flood defences. We work in energy markets focussing on industrial decarbonisation technologies like energy storage, hydrogen, steam generation, carbon capture and renewable energy. We support the development of nuclear infrastructure, manufacturing facilities and process plants through integrated mechanical and piping system designs.

We design new systems, improve existing asset performance and are actively pursuing more sustainable infrastructure for the societies we live and work within.

Is this role right for you?

For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes: A bachelor's degree in relevant academic discipline, such as Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics / Robotics Engineering; Aeronautical Engineering; Aerospace Engineering.

Skills and experience we look for: strong numeracy (Mathematics) and working proficiency in Excel

Willingness to learn new things.
