Job summary

Jacobs in Manchester is launching the Graduate Development Program (GDP) for aspiring Hydraulic Modellers. The two-year program blends learning, mentoring, progress reviews and networking to build capability across engineering and environmental disciplines.

As part of the Water and Environment Business Unit, you will work on river engineering and flood risk projects, using modelling tools to map risk, support environmental targets and contribute to multi-disciplinary teams in a hybrid working

Qualifications

• Pursuing a relevant Degree or Master’s level qualification in Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics or Computer Science.
• Flexible, proactive mindset and motivation to drive your career forward.
• Permanent right to work in the UK.
• Availability to start September 2027.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering projects for clients such as the Environment Agency, SEPA, water companies and major infrastructure providers.
• Your workload will be varied, including identifying environmental flow targets, designing river restoration schemes, and using modelling software to map flood risk and protect homes.
