Job Overview

IREF Lead Technician – Password Services Air Conditioning Ltd., part of Johnson Controls.

We are looking for a competent technician to diagnose and repair industrial refrigeration system malfunctions in Scotland (predominantly Glasgow).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead diagnosis and repair of system malfunctions.
• Serve as a subject‑expert, keeping customers informed on service findings, outstanding issues, and recommending system enhancements or upgrades.
• Provide customer training in system operations as required.
• Document customer equipment status and completed work.
• Co‑ordinate on‑site activity for complex multi‑person jobs and, where needed, oversee subcontractors.
• Coach less experienced service team members.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant trade qualifications (e.g., BAS/BNS, HVAC, Refrigeration).
• Complex product knowledge and advanced system knowledge within industrial refrigeration; Ammonia certification essential.
• Valid driving licence.
• Experience working with HFC, Ammonia and CO₂ systems.
• Experience with major manufacturers such as SABROE, Frick, York, Bitzer and Howden.
• Experience with DX, pumped, flooded and multistage systems.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
