Job summary

Buro Happold Limited is seeking a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join the Ground Engineering team across Leeds, London or Bath. From site appraisal through construction, the role supports safe, economical outcomes with an integrated geotechnical approach.

You will work on diverse projects, undertake ground investigations, develop models, and collaborate with designers across disciplines in a dynamic, early-career environment with opportunities for chartership and flexible/hybrid working.

Qualifications

• MSc/MEng in Civil Engineering (geotechnical focus).
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics and geology.
• Fluent English with solid written and spoken communication.
• Willingness to travel; UK driving licence is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Desk-based assessments of site geology and history.
• Identify and specify ground investigation requirements.
• Engage with ground investigation operations.
• Interpret ground investigation data to develop ground models for design.
• Carry out designs for geotechnical elements from domestic buildings to major infrastructure.
• On-site supervision and support of construction operations.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines in the project team.
