Job summary

Arup UK geospatial graduates join a multidisciplinary team that combines geography, data and digital technology to help clients and project teams understand places and make better decisions.

You will work on projects ranging from early options and environmental assessment through to design, construction and operation, applying spatial analysis, data engineering, Earth observation, automation and digital visualisation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Digital Engineering, Data Science/Engineering or Environmental Science.
• Eligibility includes full working rights in the UK and no more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role.
• Graduate or on-track to graduate before employment starts.

Responsibilities

• Collect, manage, assure and analyse spatial data to support multidisciplinary projects.
• Create maps, dashboards, apps and visualisations for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Develop efficient geospatial workflows using GIS, data engineering, scripting and automation.
• Collaborate with engineers, planners, environmental specialists and clients to turn requirements into spatial insights.
• Contribute to innovation, standards and learning across geospatial specialisms.

The Opportunity

Our UK geospatial team combines geography, data and digital technology to help clients and project teams understand places, make informed decisions and deliver better outcomes for the built and natural environments. We work across transport, water, energy, cities, planning and major infrastructure, applying spatial analysis, data engineering, Earth observation, automation and digital visualisation. Graduates join a collaborative multidisciplinary team, working with specialists across Arup and contributing to projects ranging from early options and environmental assessment through to design, construction and operation.

• Collect, manage, assure and analyse spatial data to support multidisciplinary projects and evidence-based decision-making.
• Create clear maps, dashboards, applications and other visualisations that communicate complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support the development of efficient and repeatable geospatial workflows using GIS, data engineering, scripting and automation tools.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, planners, environmental specialists, designers and clients to understand requirements and turn them into useful spatial insights.
• Contribute to innovation, technical standards and continuous learning while developing experience across different projects, sectors and geospatial specialisms.

For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes:
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant academic discipline, such as Geography & Geospatial Science, Digital Engineering; Data Science / Engineering; Environmental Science.
