Job summary

Keoghs in Belfast is seeking a capable paralegal or graduate to assist experienced solicitors in progressing litigation matters, including discovery, quantum analysis, and trial preparation. You will support with research, witness statements, and liaising with counsel to advance cases efficiently.

The role targets a 5 chargeable hours per day objective and offers exposure to ILPS and progression opportunities within a litigation team.

Qualifications

• Law degree or equivalent legal education.
• Excellent listening, verbal and written communication.
• Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Strong research skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist Qualified Solicitors with caseloads in insurance defence litigation.
• Draft pleadings and review discoverable material.
• Carry out legal research and review evolving case law.
• Take informal and formal statements from witnesses for investigations.
• Help with trial preparation and witness readiness.
• Instruct Counsel and medico-legal experts with briefs and instructions.
• Manage daily task lists, deadlines and service levels.
• Utilise Case Management system for supervising cases.
