Position Overview

Graduate Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer.

Location: Based near Chichester.

Salary: £24,000 - £28,000.

Responsibilities
  • Working on projects across the public and private sectors, including residential and commercial developments, sports venues, schools, etc.
  • Producing technical documents, such as Flood Risk Assessments (FRA) and Flood Estimation Reports.
  • Contributing to Drainage Strategies, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS).
  • Using software such as MicroDrainage and AutoCAD to produce work.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Geography, or a similar relevant discipline.
  • Good knowledge of Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, and Drainage Design.
  • Keen understanding of Hydraulic Modelling.
  • Proficiency in the use of MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and other similar software systems.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills, especially for report writing.
  • Genuine interest in flood risk and drainage and their importance in environmental and engineering projects.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Prior experience in a flood risk and/or drainage role.
  • Good knowledge of the local area and surrounding region.
  • Excellent working knowledge of a range of other software systems used within the flood risk, drainage, and hydrology sectors.
