Job Title: Graduate Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer

Salary: £24,000 - £28,000

This is an excellent opportunity to join a trusted, eco-conscious Multidisciplinary Consultancy renowned for lending their expertise to projects across the civil engineering and drainage landscapes. They are searching for a driven, capable Graduate Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer who is willing to take on a challenging array of projects across a variety of sectors, based near the historic, picturesque city of Chichester.

Responsibilities
  • Working on projects across the public and private sectors, including residential and commercial developments, sports venues, schools, etc.
  • Producing technical documents, such as Flood Risk Assessments (FRA) and Flood Estimation Reports
  • Contributing to Drainage Strategies, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
  • Using software such as MicroDrainage and AutoCAD to produce work
Required skills and experience
  • A Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, or Geography (or a similar, relevant discipline)
  • Good knowledge of Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, and Drainage Design
  • A keen understanding of Hydraulic Modelling
  • Proficient in the use of MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and other, similar software systems
  • Outstanding written and verbal skills
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills, particularly when applied to report writing
  • A genuine interest in flood risk and drainage, and their importance in environmental and engineering projects
Desirable skills and experience
  • Prior experience in a flood risk and/or drainage role
  • Good knowledge of the local area and surrounding region
  • Excellent working knowledge of a range of other software systems used within the flood risk, drainage, and hydrology sectors
