The Role – Graduate English Tutor

As a Graduate English Tutor, you will work closely with experienced English teachers and play a key role in raising attainment and confidence. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Supporting students with reading comprehension, analytical writing, and exam technique.
  • Assisting in English lessons to ensure pupils remain engaged and supported.
  • Leading structured intervention sessions focused on GCSE preparation.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to feedback and assessment.
  • Helping to maintain a focused, positive, and academically ambitious learning environment.

This is a hands‑on role that provides genuine insight into teaching and daily life within a secondary school English department.
