Job summary

Seven Group Holdings Limited is seeking a Graduate English Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a secondary school in Wood Green, North London. You will work with the English department to boost literacy, reading and writing, and to help students progress across lessons.

The role involves working with groups and individuals to develop reading, writing, and comprehension skills, along with grammar, spelling and expression. A long-term commitment and immediate start are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree in English or an English-related subject.
• Ideally, have previous experience working in a school or supporting young people.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Possess strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for English.
• Be confident supporting students with reading, writing and comprehension.
• Have a patient, enthusiastic and proactive approach to working with young people.
• Be available to start immediately and commit to a long-term role.

Responsibilities

• Support students with English during lessons and provide additional help where needed.
• Work with small groups and individual students to develop reading, writing, comprehension and analytical skills.
• Help students improve grammar, spelling, vocabulary and written expression.
• Support students with English Literature and English Language topics.
• Assist teachers with lesson activities and classroom management.
• Encourage positive engagement, participation and behaviour in lessons.
• Provide tailored support to students who may need additional help with their learning.
