Job summary

Fusion People is seeking a Graduate Engineering Geologist to join a multidisciplinary rail division. The role offers a permanent position with a starting salary around £30,000 and a suite of benefits.

You will work under supervision on desk studies, ground models and geotechnical design inputs to support project delivery. Ideal candidates hold a Geology degree, with a Masters in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering preferred, and at least 1 year of rail/geotechnical experience.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Geology or related discipline.
  • Masters in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering is desirable.
  • Minimum 1 year of industry experience (rail/geotechnical).
  • Full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with desk studies, interpretative reports and geotechnical deliverables under supervision.
  • Contribute to ground models, geotechnical assessments and design solutions.
  • Support technical problem solving and provide design input.
  • Apply geological and geotechnical principles to engineering designs.
  • Assist supervision of ground investigation works.
  • Engage with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders to support delivery.

Graduate Engineering Geologist – RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with the preparation of desk studies, interpretative reports, and geotechnical deliverables under supervision

  • Support technical problem‑solving activities and provide design input
  • Apply geological and geotechnical engineering principles to support integrated engineering designs
  • Assist with the supervision and coordination of ground investigation works
  • Engage with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to support successful project delivery
Graduate Engineering Geologist – REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree in Geology or a related discipline
  • Masters in Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline (desirable)
  • Min 1 year of industry experience (rail / geotechnical)
  • Strong understanding of geology, ground investigation methods, and geotechnical engineering principles
  • A full UK driving license.
