Job summary

Jacobs is seeking graduates for its two‑year Graduate Development Program in the UK. You will gain broad experience through blended learning, mentoring and real project work across water and related infrastructure, with development supported by managers and mentors.

We’re looking for talented graduates from Electrical Engineering and related disciplines, with a proactive mindset and a desire to grow within a world-leading company. Start date September 2027 and hybrid working options are provided.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver electrical design solutions for water and wastewater projects.
  • Prepare electrical calculations, specifications, reports and drawings.
  • Design LV distribution systems, MCCs, control panels and standby generation.
  • Support instrumentation, control and automation interfaces with teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, hazard workshops and constructability reviews.
  • Undertake site visits, surveys, inspections and commissioning activities.

About The Opportunity

Jacobs has secured multi-year contracts and projects with leading clients in the water sector throughout UK and Ireland. We need a range of skills to deliver these fantastic opportunities and are therefore recruiting professionals from all disciplines who are looking to growing their careers in the water sector. You will join our team of over 1000 water professionals, working on a range of high‑profile projects and become a part of a World Leading Company with excellent career prospects. You will work with teams who have a successfultrack recordin delivering projects specialising in water / wastewater networks, water / wastewater treatment, asset management, integrated catchment management, networkmodellingand project/programme management. You will work within a multi-disciplinary structure, striving for technical excellence, delivering your projects for agreedtimeframesand budgets.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver electrical design solutions for water and wastewater treatment, pumping stations, reservoirs, and associated infrastructure projects
  • Prepare electrical calculations, specifications, technical reports, and engineering drawings
  • Design low voltage (LV) electrical distribution systems, motor control centres (MCCs), control panels, standby generation, and associated equipment
  • Support the development of instrumentation, control, and automation interfaces in collaboration with ICA and process engineering teams
  • Participate in design reviews, hazard workshops, HAZOPs, and constructability reviews
  • Undertake site visits, surveys, inspections, and commissioning activities as required
  • Work closely with project managers, design managers, and other discipline leads to ensure successful project delivery
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and client specifications
  • Support cost estimation, programme development, and risk management activities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the sharing of best practices across the business
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders
